Sponsor a Clinic:
School-based programs will bring a professor led ensemble from New England Conservatory or Berklee School of Music to a different high school every four to six weeks of the school year. The program will combine a workshop where high school students will be mentored on technique, interpretation and performance by the college ensemble and their instructor. Later that evening a concert by the college ensemble, open to the entire community, will take place.
Community clinics will focus on Saxophone/Clarinet, Trumpet/Trombone, Bass, piano, voice, guitar and drums. We are looking at hiring working professionals in the area to head and play the clinics. The first clinic will be hosted by a noted North Shore father and son team of Rikki Razden and his sixteen year-old son Alec. The clinic leader will be accompanied by a professional rhythm section of bass, drums and piano/guitar.Clinics will be open and free of charge to all North Shore high school musicians.
$1500 will sponsor one clinic in your name
Sponsor an Event:
Our monthly concerts have added great value to the community and are highly visible with lots of press and SRO audiences. Your sponsorship pays for talent and expenses:
$1500
Larger concerts at bigger venues with name talent are expensive. We are planning some very exciting events for next year, and your sponsorship can make it happen.
$5000
Host a fund-raiser. You host the party and we will bring a jazz combo to your home for a cocktail party or brunch to help us raise money for the NSJP
Sponsor the North Shore Jazz Archive
This long term project comes with a high price-tag, but will endure, creating an archive of important photos, logs, and films, and memorabilia, from the North Shore's golden age of jazz. We will create a searchable website archive and create video interviews of the last surviving musicians. $50,000. Partial contributions appreciated.
